The Organisation

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

The IE&S Division is responsible for ensuring compliance with the standards that apply to the manufacture and supply of medicines on the UK market. This is achieved by licensing and inspecting all UK manufacturers, wholesale dealers and importers of medicines and by inspecting clinical trials and toxicology laboratories.

Purpose of Role:

The post-holder will assist in the day-to-day support of a number of cross Divisional IT activities and systems. He/she will require a good mix of skills to meet the varied workload and to interact effectively with a range of administrative, scientific and technical staff of varying levels of seniority. They will provide assistance and work closely with the Business Systems Support Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide support and guidance to users of a wide range of IT systems.
2. Support of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) including as required preparation and execution of acceptance test scripts according to best business practice
3. Maintenance of the Divisional web site
4. Training new and existing users in the use of Agency IT systems
5. Development of Business reports to meet Business requirements
6. Monitor the group workload and deal with queries efficiently and within the specified timeframe
7. Make an active contribution to the delivery of divisional and cross agency IT projects.
