Senior Business Intelligence Engineer - DV Cleared

Reporting to the BI Technology/ Team Leader the Senior Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of moderately complex to complex BI projects including design, creation, testing and documentation in accordance with agreed standards. The post holder will work with external project managers, business analysts, and business relationship managers to implement project requirements.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will update technology/ team leads on progress against project plans, and assist in the estimation of work packages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Senior Business Intelligence Engineer's responsibilities include the following:

* Line Management

* Where required direct line management of BI Engineers in accordance with the Service Management Operating Model (MOM)

Project Management

* Self-directing management of moderately complex to complex BI projects
* Direct tasking of BI Engineers to complete project work packages

* Requirements

* Work with Business Analysts to implement requirements for BI solutions
* Engage with test teams to produce test plans linked to requirements catalogues
* Report to BI Technology/ Team Leads against targets

* Prepare the following documents:

* Feed into Project plans
* Unit Delivery plans
* Ensure the delivery of accurate project documentation and designs

* Development

* BI/MI design, development and testing
* Manage full development lifecycle
* Produce technical design specifications and documentation

Qualifications/Experience Required:

3+ years relevant experience with a proven track record of delivering BI projects to time, cost, quality and meeting customers expectations and requirements using a recognised methodology Capabilities

1 Data Modelling (UML Preferred)
2 Relational Database Design
3 Dimensional Database Design
4 ETL Toolsets
5 Metadata Layer Design
6 MI Reporting Toolsets
7 Database procedural Programming

Knowledge:

a) Oracle 11g SQL and PL/ SQL Programming

b) Oracle Security Models: Label Security, VPD

c) SAS: DI Studio, Web Reports Studio, Information Map Studio, E-Guide

d) Knowledge of corporate data for IP, Tasking, MORIARTY
