Senior Automation and Validation Engineer (Delta-V)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR AUTOMATION (DELTA-V) AND VALIDATION ENGINEER to join our client in Durham, NC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide leadership in area of automation by leading the design, implementation, and start up activities for new capital projects including processing equipment/systems, tech transfers, and modifications to existing systems the RTP site.
- Responsible for automation support on various project of varying magnitude at cGMP manufacturing facilities.

ACCOUNTABILITY DESCRIPTION:

- Assist project managers, process engineers, and global automation engineers with capital projects including scope development, schedules related to automation scope.
- Research, and develop project scope document, functional requirements specification and develop RFQ packages for new projects.
- Assist with management of automation contractors for global automation projects.
- Oversee various activities associated with scope development, specification development, documentation, code development, change control, commissioning and validation.
- Work with Site Automation Group to develop design requirements, compliance and validation requirements and commissioning activities.
- Perform code changes as needed for small projects and coordinate testing and validation activities as required.
- Create OQ validation binders for initial approval and ensure all OQ validation testing and commissioning are completed.
- Work with Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, and Training Department through duration of project to ensure compliance.
- Lead various activities related to new system commissioning and validation.
- Provide leadership associated with functional testing, loop checks, and field start-up/troubleshooting of automation and process equipment.

JOB SCOPE FACTORS:

- Serves as the Automation Engineering Lead reporting the Project Manager for small to mid-size capital projects.
- Responsible for ensuring the design functionality, robustness of new and/or modified equipment and systems.
- The functionality must meet user requirements and satisfy project requirements for schedule and budget.
- Interacts extensively with internal customers and stakeholders including Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Validation to clearly define and meet customer needs and expectations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree Desired (or four (4+) years of additional experience).
- Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with automation projects including scope development and code development.
- Minimum five (5) years of direct DeltaV operation and code development experience.
- Experience with Syncade system development integration a plus.
- In-Depth Knowledge and Technical Skills:
- Automation Control System, minimum five (5) years of DeltaV experience necessary.
