SENIOR APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER AUSTIN, TX 8 MONTH CONTRACT

We re currently seeking a Developer to perform the design, development and maintenance of web applications which integrate with and process data from big data repositories (ie Hadoop).

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent training required
- 5-7 years software design and development experience in enterprise-class, mission-critical open standards and web development and deployment environments
- Demonstrated experience with 3-tier web application development utilizing Java, Spring, Hibernate, Grails/Groovy, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, JUnit
- Ability to solve complex software development/design issues
- Ability to write clean, coherent code following established coding guidelines
- Strong process orientation and planning, organizational and problem solving skills
- Good analytic, design, coding/testing and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way
- Familiarity in web services standards and related technologies (REST, SOAP, etc.)
- Experience with Agile Methodologies a plus
- Experience with Hadoop/HIVE a plus
- Experience with Test Driven Development and/or pair programming a plus
- Experience with electronic payment and financial services systems a plus
