Senior Application Development Analyst

Position Summary
Develop and maintain software applications critical to the operations by, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other applications and related technologies in the analysis and design of complex solutions. The Sr Application Development Analyst is proficient in all critical functions for the application(s) assigned, and is expected to champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure that quality standards are met. Responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions as assigned, ensuring and adhering to all established methodologies, standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: analysis & design documents, program specifications, test plans and results, design, code, testing, debugging, and documentation of those programs while delivering assignments within specified time frames.

Qualifications
At least 6+ years of application development utilizing ANSI SQLin UNIX environments/UDB. Ability to understand database model and relate same to business functions and processes.
Ability to Multi-tasks while working on multiple development projects and teams.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with IT leadership and business partners on a daily basis to
deliver technically sound and cost effective solutions. Able to effectively share information and mentor others. Have a great
desire to learn business process and master new technology

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required, two additional years of experience is required for each year of college not attained Experience At least 6+ years of programming experience utilizing languages which include both Unix script, UDB/DB2 and SQL in a UNIX environment. Solid experience in relation database, large database and have knowledge of database functions, MCSs, partitions etc. Able to demonstrate having worked with relational and hierarchical databases is very important. Also having experience with Korn Shell Scripting, Maestro/Job Scheduling, Informatica, Actuate a plus

This role is also responsible for the design/redesign, development and implementation of technical solutions, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other internal applications and related technologies in the analysis and design and is expected to adhere to established methodologies, standards and guidelines.

Duties
Responsible to work independently or participate in small to mid-size projects completing complex work requests under minimal guidance. Accountable to formulate/define system scope and objectives for deliverables ensuring established timelines and cost estimates are maintained. Provide ongoing production support and maintenance as assigned, which may include rotational 24x7 on-call support or code implementation efforts. Present information and respond to questions either one-on-one or to groups, including formal presentations and regular status to management and business partners. Share technical and business expertise with other team members and business partners. Work to understand business, functional and technical issues to effectively apply technical solutions. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. Participate in internal quality assurance review and post implementation support and system enhancements. Facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments. May instruct, direct and check the work of other staff assigned to the project. Identify areas for improvement, present recommendations and champion changes. Keep apprised on industry best practices.

Experience
At least 6 or more years of relevant application development experience in referenced skill sets. Must be proficient in Microsoft Access 2003 and 2007 as well as Visual Basic Application (VBA) programming Demonstrated successful completion of several small scope projects with proficiency working on all phases of SDLC. Solid knowledge of and experience with problem determination and resolution through research and fact-finding. Clear and concise communication and presentation skills are required to facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred. If no degree, then one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained. High School Diploma or GED is a required.
