Senior Actuary - London/Pensions/£900pd

Location: London

Key Capabilities/Knowledge:
*Actuary
*Experience of Defined Benefits Pensions Schemes (including accounting and capital calculations)
*Demonstrable knowledge of pensions regulations
*Experience of de-risking/hedging desirable
*Experience of Insurance companies preferable
*Risk Management experience preferable
*Excellent written/oral communication skills including ability to explain complex material to a non-technical audience
*An organised self-starter
*Experience of pensions risks in a banking environment would be an advantage
*Proven contribution to the success of high performance teams
*Ability to build productive and influential relationships with a number of stakeholders

Accountabilities:
*Work directly with members of the Pensions teams to understand business strategy and associated risks.
*Work directly with the Insurance business, to understand business strategy and associated risks
*Become a trusted business partner to the Pensions and Insurance teams.

Assist with:
*The development of Market &Longevity Risk appetites, limits and policies and ensure reporting of positions against limits/targets for pension schemes
*Optimise risk management activity for pension schemes - real rate hedging, equity risk, credit spread and longevity risk management
*Optimise risk management activity for Insurance companies - equity, credit spread and longevity risk management from the Group's perspective.
*Understand synergies and conflicts between Group Risk Appetite and Insurance Division (Solvency II) Risk Appetite
*Challenge and optimisation of all strategic pensions initiatives.
*Prepare reports to executive management about Pensions Risk Management
*Prepare reports to executive management about Insurance Risk Management
*Challenge funding plans and actuarial bases of the pension schemes.
*Review and challenge pensions ICAAP calculations
*Understands and measure market risk in Private equity portfolios
