Senior .NET Developer- Switzerland - Risk Modelling System Replacement

Panoramic Associates are urgently searching for a Senior .NET Developer to join a mixed actuary-developer team within a Reinsurance Company based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Our client intends to replace one of its major risk modelling systems (AIR Clasic/2) with a replacement offering from the same vendor (AIR Touchstone). These applications are heavily integrated with applications/modules of the Reinsurance Risk Analytics Platform. The upgrade involves a major database schema change.

THE GOAL OF THIS ENGAGEMENT IS:

- To make AIR Touchstone analysis results available to downstream systems
- To ensure AIR Classifications are properly reflected in surrounding systems
- To modify a Front End UI and application stack to accommodate changes to analysis calls

The right candidate will be an experienced Senior Developer, with broad exposure to the design and development of multi-tier/distributed architecture solutions and solid experience of developing applications for Financial Services clients, ideally in Reinsurance or Insurance, although a Risk Management System background will be considered.

THIS ROLE WILL INVOLVE:

- Working with line management to develop a solid service-oriented application architecture
- The design, development and testing of required functionality using Test-Driven Development approach
- Ensuring a deployable functional increment is delivered every Sprint (SCRUM framework)
- Modelling; Designing; Coding; Unit Testing; Integration and Regression Testing; Debugging and Deployment

SKILLS REQUIRED:

CONCEPTUAL

- Advanced understanding of software architecture concepts (n-tier, SOA, web/wcf services) and development techniques and concepts
- Advanced understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies
- Articulate in expressing the same
- Quick grasp of business concepts and capability to translate development concepts into business language

TECHNIQUES/SKILLS

- Good understanding of Microsoft .NET environment, ASP.NET pipeline (MVC and JQuery), WCF services, web and windows client applications
- Must have strong Back End development skills in a MS SQL SERVER environment, both database design and querying/stored procedures
- Must have worked with C#, WPF, ideally having used MVVM AND PRISM
- Must have worked with task management, issue tracking, and source control management systems, preferably with MS TFS/VISUAL STUDIO
- Should have experience with SCRUM, TEST DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT or other agile development techniques

PERSONALITY

- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organization skills
- Ability to constructively interact with the Product owner and business community to gather and understand requirements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
