SENIOR .NET DEVELOPER PORTLAND, OR 6 MONTH CONTRACT

The primary purpose and function of the Sr. .NET Developer is to build and support the software utilized by the client network. This position will participate in the design and development of the source system application used to service the financial and medical needs in client locations, working with both Business and System Analysts to understand and detail technical solutions to business requirements, implement features, and work with Software Quality Assurance to support coding and testing efforts.

We are looking for senior level professionals who have acted as a mentor on their team (officially or unofficially) to junior programmers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

- Use programming languages at an advanced level and advanced tools to analyze applications containing graphical user interfaces, structured query languages, complex business rules, network capability, and help compilation.
- Provide user requirements analysis, systems analysis, design and programming support for enterprise application systems development and enhancement.
- Interact with Business Analysts and the Development team to create technical solutions to functional business requirements.
- Code, test, document, problem solve and advise users on system use.
- Provide mentoring and technical leadership guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Support testing efforts during SQA and user acceptance testing.
- Adhere to policies, procedures and standards.
- Ability to create and report on project schedules and estimates.
- Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

Experience, Education and/or Training

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Six years programming experience required
- Net framework, C# (mandatory), WinForms, WCF, WPF, ASP.NET, XML
- MS SQL Server 2008 and above
- Understanding of iterative software development life cycle methodology such as Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum
- Object Oriented Design/Development
- Strong understanding of Design Patterns
- Microsoft best practices technologies such as the Microsoft Enterprise Library, Prism and Unity
- Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training preferred

Special Working Conditions

- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
- Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate
