Senior .NET/C# Front End Developer in Alternative Investment Area - iE

For a global bank based here in Zürich we are searching for a WPF UI expert to join the team.

OVERVIEW OF BUSINESS AREA/PROJECT:

An alternative investments fund manager located in Zurich is further building out the functionalities of its trading and analytics IT platform. To support the development team, the fund manager is looking for a motivated senior .NET/C# Front End developer with extensive in-house development experience of trading applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Working independently and as part of a small team in an agile environment, under the guidance of the tech lead
- Developing components on a Microsoft 3-tier architecture system, with focus on the UI - Front End
- Enhancing existing functionalities and designing/implementing new features following coding best practices
- Taking part in extending the testing framework and maintaining/improving unit tests
- Understanding the business specifications, converting requirements into technical solutions
- Supporting the Production Environment and the end-users

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

Technical Skills

- Several years of experience designing and implementing UI (focusing on usability and user interaction)
- EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH WPF/MVVM/PRISM (CANDIDATES WITH EXTENSIVE SILVERLIGHT KNOWLEDGE WOULD ALSO BE CONSIDERED)
- Infragistics controls (candidates with great experience with other third party controls would also be considered)
- Strong skills in OOP, core .NET/C# 4.0 or above, LINQ, design patterns, multi-threading, especially applied to UI
- Extensive experience with UI unit testing (eg NUnit) and mocking frameworks

General

- Strong analytic and problem solving skills, flexible on moving targets
- Good oral/written communication, positive and proactive team attitude
- Good spoken and written English

Desired:

Technical Skills

- Experience with WCF, messaging/queue technologies
- Persistence Layer (preferably Entity Framework)
- DB design, SQL, including SQL Server 2008 or above
- Inversion of Control frameworks (eg Castle, Spring, )
- Interactive data visualization products focused on Business Intelligence such as Tableau
- Performance Optimization/Troubleshooting

General

- Higher Education, such as Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
- Previous experience in the Finance/Insurance industries (ideally within Trading/Portfolio Management)
