Security Technician Job

SECURITY TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Melbourne, FL.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Strong written and oral communication skills

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for monitoring security events to identify anomalies within the network
- Use skills and external resources to validate those events as valid or false positive
- Historical analysis of logs associated with security events
- Produce reports outlining incident and potential mitigation
- Data mining from various sources looking for anomalous activity
- Communicate with teammates about potential incidents and trends
- Apply baseline security configurations to network equipment
- Troubleshoot VPN sessions/issues
- Handle phone calls from customer
- Enforce system controls and levels of access; recommends improvements
- Develops security awareness by providing orientation, educational programs, and on-going communication
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- SHIFT WORK REQUIRED IN 24X7X365 ENVIRONMENT

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- High School diploma with eight (8) plus years of experience
- Associate Degree with four (4) plus years of experience
- Understand system logs and be familiar with log analysis
- Strong investigative drive
- Self-motivated individuals
- Problem Solving Information Security Policies
- Information Security Policies
- On-Call
- Network Protocols
- Routers & Switches

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Information Security experience
- Understanding of attack/defense scenarios
- Understanding of system vulnerabilities and exploitation
- Understanding of vulnerability mitigation
- Security+ Certification is preferred
