Security Consultant (S28)

We are seeking an experienced Security Consultant for at least a 15 month engagement based in Parramatta to work on specific security improvement activities in the Information Security Team for a large government organisation.

Your role responsibilities include;
- Implement specified security improvement tasks as required, which may relate to people/process/technology
- Implement effective metric and reporting mechanisms to ensure benefit realisation
- Work with vendors and disparate teams
- Ensure solutions are appropriate for both IT and industrial control environments
- Perform risk assessments and conduct all work using a risk-based approach
- Understand and address competing business priorities, influencing where necessary to achieve objectives
- Ensure that solutions genuinely address risk, rather than follow a cookbook approach
- Participate in development and implementation of Information Security strategy, policies, standards and processes
- Participate in Information security targeted awareness and training activities, including development, leading and facilitating

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent solid experience in Information Security. The technologies you will have a good understanding of include: Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems; IP Networking; Web application frameworks; Security infrastructure such as Firewalls, proxies, endpoint security, remote access gateway. Desirable qualifications include; CISSP, CISM and relevant experience with Mainframe, VM, SCADA environments.
