SDMP Business Analyst

Our client is a global leader in the resources industry with operations in over 25 countries. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst with Subsurface Data Management experience to join their team on a Full time 12 month contract. The position will be located within their corporate offices in the Perth CBD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Act as a Business Analyst for Subsurface Data Management projects, including describing and analysing the current state for upstream subsurface technical data/information
- Design of new systems
- Compliance with Corporate Standards
- Implementation and testing
- Documentation and handover
- Liaison with key stakeholders to establish requirements and ensure stakeholder buy-in to new systems
- Work in a multifunctional team to ensure requirements are well understood and met
- Business Analysis and Project Delivery
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders in gathering and modelling business data, business processes and other business rules
- Apply Information Protection, Information Management and any global standards in the development of system requirements, business processes and procedures
- Ensure application functional and user interface requirements have been defined and reviewed
- Apply the appropriate business analysis tools and methods as needed, in support of the study of proposed changes to the business processes
- Develop all Business Analyst deliverables to agreed methods and standards as set out by the IS PMO

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Tertiary qualification in Geoscience or Petroleum Engineering or IT/IM
- At least 10 years previous experience
- Information management and/or data management background
- Desired knowledge of subsurface data management (exploration, appraisal and field development processes)
- Experience working in specific domains will be of value
- Reservoir Engineering knowledge of the processes and data types specifically fluid analysis and Pressure testing (MDT, DST)
- Seismic interpretation, mapping, volumetrics and Geological modelling knowledge of the processes and data types
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
