Introduction:

Job Mission:

Guard and guide the architecture of the software development environment, in co-operation with the internal customer and IT stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Play a major role in defining short/mid/long term development environment and configuration management solutions. The software development environment is used by appr. 300 developers.
- Define improvement proposals that focus on system performance and process efficiency for end-users.
- Stay in contact and aligned with major tool suppliers, to discuss their product roadmaps.
- Strong partner in discussions with SEI domain architects and other stakeholders within the internal customer departments.
- Keep abreast with relevant literature, means and methods.

EXPERIENCE:

- More than 10 years of relevant experience from which at least 3 years as an architect.

Thorough understanding and practical experience with:

- Development environments and strategy in general.
- Configuration and build management.
- Unix/Linux Hardware infrastructure.
- Knowledge of ClearCase is a pre.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

- At least Bachelor level or equivalent.
- Shows initiative and problem solving attitude.
- Pragmatic, practical, flexible and committed to quality.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language.

Context of the position:

For ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all internal and external activities.
A sub-department within the IT organization is IT CCP ST (Competence Center Product Solution Team); this department is responsible for the infrastructure and tooling for the development organization. Within IT CCP ST three development disciplines are represented: mechanical, electrical and software engineering. The SCM Solution Architect will be active in the software engineering group.
