Scientist I Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SCIENTIST I to join our client in San Diego, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and optimize workflow solutions to overcome current limitations and achieve corporate goals.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing products, processes and performance evaluation criteria. Execute the design, implementation, analysis and reporting of experiments for feasibility, optimization and verification/validation studies.
- Solve complex development challenges quickly and independently.
- Participate in development projects using a product development process.
- Build strong working relationships across the multi-disciplinary functional groups at multiple sites globally.
- Support cross-functional team in developing novel sequencing workflows and applications.
- All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, genome sciences, biochemistry or related field.
- Must have zero to three (0-3) years of post-graduate experience (biotech experience preferred).
- An excellent understanding of molecular biology methods for nucleic acid analysis, such as hybridization, labeling/conjugation, amplification, RT-PCR etc.
- Hands-on experience with sample preparation and sequencing workflows is highly desirable.
- Skilled in analysis of large and complex data sets. Expert knowledge of statistics or programming would be a plus.
- Must be innovative, team-oriented and highly motivated
- Must possess a desire to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Solid communication, writing and presentation skills
