SC Cleared Senior Desktop Specialist - Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced SC Cleared Senior Desktop Engineer in the field of platform design and configuration.

The successful candidate will:

- Have a proven track record in delivering and supporting large scale zero-touch operating system deployments (including Office 2010 deployment and customization) while demonstrating a clear understanding of migration issues and potential migration strategies.
- Be responsible for engineering components, supporting XP/Windows 7 & Office architecture and be active in all aspects of the delivery life cycle.
- Understand all the security implications/capabilities of Office products and be able to define a detailed security architecture/implementation
- Be able to optimise the performance of the Microsoft Office product suite
- Be expected to take responsibility for ensuring delivery of maintenance releases through the engineering process as well as coordinating and maintaining engineering documentation relating to the Operating System/Office suite design.
- Demonstrate expert problem resolution skills.
- Be self-managing and motivated with the ability to quickly pickup technical knowledge
- Be measured in their approach and work well as a part of a team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Previous demonstrable IT experience as a senior engineer.
- Expert knowledge of Windows XP/Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2003/2010 suites (including Visio), platform automation techniques, OS deployment strategies and Windows/.NET Framework security architecture.
- Proficient with VBScript and/or PowerShell
- Office template design/Macros/Custom forms
- Active Directory/Group Policies
- Design documentation and Engineering Principles/Lifecycle

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

- .NET coding ability
- HTA, XML, CSS
- Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
- MS WAIK and IEAK
- Previous experience in a high security environment
- Good understanding of SharePoint/MOSS
- ITIL v3
