RATE: £250 - £300 PER DAY

Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit for a contract Commercial Manager role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT AND THE JOB:

My Defence client requires a Commercial Manager to provide commercial support in the placing of requirements and contracts through MOD processes, using FATS and Defence based contracting skills. The Commercial Officer will also provide procurement and commercial service within their delegated authority limits ensuring contracts and suppliers meet needs for operational and contractual delivery. The Commercial Officer will also support the management of procurements through the development and implementation of effective contracts with appropriate suppliers, considering internal needs and supply market characteristics. The contractor will also be expected to use and understand a range of EU compliant procurement routes and tools as appropriate, making use of effective procurement approaches and processes to deliver value for money

The contractor will also provide direct commercial support and advice as appropriate to customers. Knowledge and experience of research contracting would be an advantage As a part of the role there will also be an element of Contract Management where required

Key Skills
Tendering and Placing contracts in accordance with Public Procurement Regulations
Knowledge of EU Directives/Procurement Law. Experience of using the MOD framework "FATS"
Good interpersonal skills to develop relationships with customers and suppliers
Ideally experienced in Defence Contracting or as a minimum experience in Govt contracting

Knowledge of Finance/Procurement systems - ideally the Oracle Peoplesoft application

Ideally you will also be CIPS qualified

This is a 7 month contract role, to start ASAP paying £250 - £300 per day. You must have a current SC Clearance to enable an immediate start.

The role is based in Hampshire and is commutable from Eastleigh,. Winchester, Waterlooville and Portsmouth..
