SAS Programmer

Position: SAS Programmer

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 6 Weeks

Certifications required: SAS BASE and Advanced programming certifications are a requirement.

DESCRIPTION:

Customer is licensing Analytics Pro with Access to PC Files. The customer needs the software installed on their VMWARE Windows Server. After the software is installed there will be a 4-6 week SAS programming project accessing EBCIDIC and DBF files and importing them into SAS. After importing them into SAS a series of reports will need to be performed using procedures such as PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE, SAS/GRAPH etc. to produce various types of trending reports

LOCATION:

100% onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio

DETAILS:

The engagement will consist of primarily three phases as outlined below:

1. Installation and configuration of SAS Analytics Pro within the VMWARE virtualized Windows environment.

2. Data Access and manipulation/integration

a. Access Mainframe data files using SAS/BASE reading approximately 6-8 EBCIDIC data files into SAS datasets. The customer has the EBCIDIC copy-book available.

b. Access between 6-8 DBF files using SAS Access to PC Files and reading the data into SAS datasets. The customer has data dictionaries for these files.

c. Manipulate the imported data to be used for the customer trend analysis reports. This might be variable conversions/creations/reductions as well as integrating data from the various sources.

3. Generate the trend analysis reports using SAS/BASE and SAS/GRAPH. The trend analyses use some basic descriptive statistics within procedures such as PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE, PROC FFREQ, etc.

SAS/MACRO programming is certainly a plus and experience with EBCIDIC and DBF files is necessary.

Candidate should have some experience in the insurance industry to make data manipulation and reporting easier.
