Sales Director - Electrical/Connectors - Rail

Excellent new opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion for a Sales & Marketing Director from the Rail industry. This is an immediate requirement due to the previous incumbent being promoted to Managing Director of one of their sister companies.

This is an excellent opportunity to join and lead the sales force of a leading electrical engineering manufacturer who specialise within the Rail sector.

Based fromEssexwe are seeking in Sales & Marketing Director to join their senior management team. This is an essential appointment for this growing organisation, so as such we outlined the key job requirements below.

To be considered for this role suitable candidates will need to be based within commutable distance ofEssex, or be prepared to relocate to the area. This is not a home based position.

Responsibilities
* In charge of all sales activities and personnel involved in Sales and Marketing for the Company.
* Provides leadership to the day-to-day operations of the Sales department, while maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals.
* Manage certain key accounts
* Member of the company's Management Team.
* Analyse sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
* Establish performance goals for all Sales department employees and monitor performance on a continual basis.
* Oversee all hiring, appraisal, training and discipline of personnel involved in Sales and Marketing.
* Produce the Sales element of the company's annual Budget. Also, develop the Strategic Marketing Plan and then participate with the management team in the development of the Strategic Plan for the Company.
* Co-ordinate sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the Company.
* Develop and improve business relations with all customers of the Company.
* Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities, initiate action plan to approach and secure new business for the Company.
* Work with Engineering on New Product Development projects.

Requirements:
* Degree qualified
* European language desirable
* Technical sales experience, particularly with electro-mechanical products
* Experience in a Sales management capacity
* Rail industry experience, train operators and train builders
* Strong motivational, innovative and interpersonal skills;
* Proven leadership ability to influence, develop and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.

* 2 Internal sales staff
* Influence onUKbased Group sales team
