Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality (Sheqs) Manager

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL, QUALITY (SHEQS) MANAGER - TEMP CONTRACT - ASAP START

An exciitng opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a well known construction and engineering company on a temporary contract basis. This contract has a ASAP start date which will be a month rolling contract - looking for last 3 months. The manager will provide support across the business to ensure that we operate safely, achieve a consistently high standard of quality in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way.

Accountabilties:

- Investigating and reporting of all accidents
- Establishing and policing SSOW for all Production, Yard and Maintenance activities
- Ensure risk assessments for all activities are in place, maintained and risks are reduced
- Ensure that all Visitors and Contractors operate safely on site
- Continual auditing of Production processes to ensure compliance with SOP's & SSOW's
- Maintain and report KPI's for safety, quality and environment
- Regularly carry out Toolbox talks to promote safety and quality
- Ensure Legal compliance with regard to all production and yard activity
- Run Monthly H & S committee and ensure actions are completed promptly
- Ensure compliance with all Fire regulations
- Ensure sufficient trained 1st aiders are in place
- Manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with the H&S, Quality and Environmental Standards
- Maintain, improve and report the effectiveness of the H&S, Quality and Environmental Management Systems
- Managing and monitoring of all customer feedback (positive and negative) including complaints
- H & S auditing of sub-contractors & site activity
- Continually identify process improvements and challenge current methodologies
- Negotiating competitive services from Contractors and Suppliers and maintaining a strict preferred Approved List of Suppliers which is periodically reviewed.

The following qualities/experience are essential:

- NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified
- Trained in undertaking Risk Assessments
- Understands Lean Manufacturing and 5s.
- Problem Solving skills
- Self motivated, efficient and committed team player.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Ability to drive performance improvements.
- Experience of developing and or conducting audits under ISO 9000/18001/14001

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

- Experience in Manufacturing of Construction products/heavy industry
