Safety Advisor/Barrow In Furness/Contract/£30 Ltd per hour

My client is a well established and highly respected market leader within the engineering arena. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Safety Advisor to be based out of their impressive operations in Barrow in Furness. This is an initial 6 month cntract and is paying £30 per hour Ltd.

Job Description
With Specific focus on supporting Facilities Projects the role holder will:

To ensure all applicable aspects of the SHE Operational Plan is delivered to schedule across sites
Provide specialist advice and guidance to the business as determined by all appropriate health, safety and environmental legislation. guidance and best practice across all submarine sites
To ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, guidance an best practice across all sites
Develop and deliver SHE training packages as required by the business across all sites
Undertake all applicable audits and inspections as required by legislation and ISO 144001/OHSAS 18001 management systems across all sites
Undertake reactive evidence gathering post incidents and accidents an site
Undertake compliance audits as identified in the SHE annual audit schedule
Undertake reactive inspections as required be emerging issues
Undertake training development and delivery as required or identified by both management systems and the risk register
Undertake investigations as a result of all accidents/incidents in accordance with company procedures
Give legislative guidance to the business as required
Assist and verify all assessments
Generate conventional safety advice to the business

The Individual

Person (Brief Specification)/Qualification
Diploma in Occupational H&S Management or studying for Diploma in Occupational H&S Practice
NEBOSH certificate in Occupational H&S
Chartered member of IOSH or awaiting chartered status
Certificate in Environmental Management, IEMA
Associate Member of IEMA
IEMA certificate
Qualified LRQA Internal Auditor
IOSH trained accident investigation process
Trained in Incident Control an Command
Qualified manual handling assessor
Fully conversant with CDM regulations
Qualified PUWER assessor
Qualified Risk assessor

Experience
Previous experience of providing SHE advice on major construction projects
Experience of working with contractors and undertaking audits and inspections of contra tractors and their SHE arrangements
Working knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
