Ruby on Rails Developer/Consider PHP Developer or Contract Architect

With over 1.8 million unique visitors every month, our client is one of the fastest growing online businesses in Australia. As a result of their phenomenal growth, they are now seeking a RoR developer with at least two years development experience to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis.

Working within a fast moving and ever-changing environment, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a large portfolio of customer facing websites. You must be a self-starter who is comfortable taking responsibility and ownership of your work. As a part of a small team within an agile development environment, you will work on rapid development of new websites and applications.

Ideally looking for strong Ruby on Rails Developer but would also consider a strong PHP Developer that has exposure and a keen interest in RoR. You must be someone who communicates well, strong technical skills and excellent problem solver. Also client would also consider a contract Architect ($600-700 a day).

There are some big and exciting new projects for this team, so the job should
be very interesting to the successful new member to the team.

PROJECT DETAILS:

- The person would be working on the architecture and technical specification for a rewrite of their directories platform. This is the main site that drives all their directories.
- Other projects involve rewriting other major listings site currently written in .net and bringing it over to RoR.
- The third project is bringing print classifieds online. It will now be enhanced to ad self service payments and photo uploads and many other features

YOUR TECHNICAL SKILLS

- PHP5, Linux, Apache, MySQL and JQuery
- Zend Framework and Version Control (GIT)
- RUBY ON RAILS (ROR)
