Risk SME - Solvency II - Pillar II

We have a requirement for two individuals to work under the direction of Head of Risk and the Solvency II Programme Director and in summary we seek candidates who can:

- Work closely with and under the direction of permanent colleagues within the Risk & Compliance function, to ensure Solvency II becomes a 'business as usual' undertaking as we move towards 2016
- Interpret and progress implementation of an effective risk appetite framework and ensure alignment of supporting principles and processes, including the adoption of appropriate Key Risk Indicators
- Provide operational risk management support within and to individual Business Units - in particular, the implementation and embedding of risk register disciplines
- Design implementation approaches and work with business colleagues to ensure the successful adoption of new risk policies and procedures where required to support compliance with Solvency II requirements
- In conjunction with colleagues, actively support and engage in the ORSA process - providing inputs as required to ensure regulatory approval and business benefit from this core SII undertaking

PERSONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

- Experienced operational risk professional or analyst with a good understanding of Solvency II (including interpretation of text) and practical experience of implementing risk related policies and procedures
- Knowledgeable in respect of Systems of Governance and the three lines of defence
- Experience of working as part of Solvency II programmes/projects desirable
- Strong understanding of identifying and capturing business requirements
- A good awareness and understanding of risk analytical tools
- Contract management experience a bonus
- Good inter-personal skills and capable of working with business stakeholders at all levels.
