RF Technician

GENERAL PURPOSE
The RF Technician is tasked with assisting all fellow technicians with a focus on supporting RFS business line profitability, quality, and customer service goals. The RF Technician will be responsible for executing specific tasks/assignments with respect to the installation of distributed antenna systems including installation of connectors, cabling, antennas, head-end and remote electronics, etc. Additionally, the RF Technician must have a good understanding of advanced Distributed Antenna Systems and has the ability to successfully commission repeaters/BDA's and fiber optic systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Reporting to the job site in a timely manner.
- Ensuring professionalism is maintained at all times including adhering to the dress code.
- Recording time spent each day working on individual projects into the time reporting software.
- Responsibly managing project expenditures and properly reporting/coding expenses to the respective projects.
- Ensuring any project related expenses are in-line with project's budget.
- Following specific instructions and general guidance from the Project Foreman for all projects.
- Assisting in inventorying project materials, loading/unloading equipment, and the installation of DAS equipment.
- Using good judgment at all times to ensure high customer satisfaction, timely project completion, and tightly managed project expenses.
- Adhering to installation standards and operating procedures.
- Commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting BDAs, Fiber Optic Distributed Antenna Systems and wireless repeaters
GENERAL PERFORMANCE GOALS:
- 100% of customer SLA's (service level agreement/due date) met excluding extenuating circumstances
- Zero customer complaints and quality defects
- 100% of the team work time dedicated and coded to projects
TIME MANAGEMENT AND COST MANAGEMENT
- Follow the manpower tracker and communicate effectively with Project Foreman regarding schedule.
- Ensure that all company and team emails are read and responded to in less than 24 hours.
- Assist in the development of processes to save time and improve team efficiencies.
- Complete timesheets, expense reports, and per diem submissions in a timely manner.
- Reconcile P-card reports in a timely manner while meeting installation/project obligations.
COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT
- Ensure proper communication with all team members on a project.
- Communicate effectively on daily basis with the Project Foreman.
- Attend regular meetings with team members to promote communication and onsite efficiencies.
- Drive effective communication.
SAFETY
- Attend toolbox monthly safety meetings.
- Be informed on and wear, when warranted, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- When not in the office the position will encounter various work environments in the field including but not limited to office space, warehouse, refineries, power plants, manufacturing facilities, new construction environments, hotels, airports, and agencies.
SKILLS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Experience with physical labor jobs is strongly desired.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Technician at the company or at a competitor.
- A commissioning certification from a reputable repeater/BDA manufacturer (ADRF, R-Tron, CSI, GST, etc.) is REQUIRED.
- Hands-on experience in commissioning coax and fiber optic systems for one or more major Wireless Service Provider
- A commissioning certification from MobileAccess, ADC, Andrew, or SOLiD is strongly desired.
CORE COMPETENCIES

- Minimal time is spent sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. A moderate amount of time is spent climbing or balancing. The majority of work time is spent standing, walking, using hands to point, handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.
- The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs is required.
