- Need faster payments' SME from retail banking domain, Chaps payments, faster payments, UK market only.
- Looking for a Retail Payments SME to be part of a deep review of a client's UK Retail and Small Business Customer (up to £50m assets/Turnover) Payments Strategy.
- Our client has not reviewed its role in payments in recent years. Given the changing regulatory environment and the arrival of new services (eg Apple Pay, FX aggregation services) there is a need to establish a clear model. This relates both to:

(1) the Banks memberships in the payment and settlement services (eg Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS, Crest),

(2) the services that the Bank offers (eg 3rd party payments, international remittance) to its customers and

(3) Opportunities to use UK providers/utilities to provide services

We are seeking an experienced Retail Payments SME to help advise and shape our clients payments strategy for the next three years

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

YOU WILL BE DELIVERING A FUTURE VIEW AND ROADMAP TO GET TO A SOLUTION THAT GIVES:

- A secure and reliable payments service
- An appropriate total cost to serve for Payment Services based on the size of the Bank bench marked against the payment market.
- Clearly defined customer payment requirements across the Bank taking into account known market trends, eg mobile payments/Apple pay
- Simplified end-to-end payments life cycle aligned to the target customer journey
- A fit for purpose payments capability with high STP rates
- Appropriate settlement, netting and charging capabilities
- Appropriate payments performance monitoring and management reporting.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

YOU WILL HAVE:

- Detailed knowledge of payments services with expertise in several UK payments options.
- Strong understanding of market changes and enabling technologies in payments or transaction banking specifically
- Robust analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to write and present in a logical and structured way
- Ability to confidently liaise with senior managers, conveying complex ideas and documenting the results.
