Resource Modeller - Reading - Planning

This role will support the maintenance and ongoing development of the demand and resource planning processes and tools by:-

- developing tools to recognise multi site working
- developing tools that plan for nationwide inspections
- developing non-operational business planning tools
- refining timings (eg to allow three point estimates or distributed loads)
- refining assumptions
- suggesting other developments to the planning process and tools that further support this key decision making capability.

The plans are a major source of evidence that inform discussions at the monthly director-led Resource Planning Group meeting. The post holder is expected to provide the supporting analysis for this meeting.

The postholder will also be required to liaise with the wider Planning and Performance Team to ensure coherent planning assumptions and consistent measures are used to address both the local resource plans for implementation across sites/functions and the aggregation of this information across the organisation.

Forging relationships with the business areas we support is critical to the role. The successful candidate must be able to work under their own initiative and also in a collaborative manner to complete demand planning and resourcing modelling for all their assigned business areas, including scenario modelling the delivery impacts of major change projects.

The postholder will support the provision of:
- Short term resource, demand and clearance plans (eg 90 day)
- Long term plans and scenario models
- Analysis of actuals for feeding back into the modelling process
- Engagement with and management of stakeholders at all levels

Essential Requirements for this role are:-
- Strong IT and modelling/analytical skills (using Microsoft Excel).
- A good understanding of field force resource planning, office based resource planning, static resource planning and scenario modelling.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem solving skills
