TEMPORARY RESEARCH OFFICER

FULL TIME - 35 HOURS PER WEEK, CHELMSFORD

£12 - 14 PER HOUR

3 MONTH CONTRACT

This is a temporary post in Essex County Council's research unit. The role is focused on work to refresh the countywide joint strategic needs assessment for Health and Social care.

THE ROLE

- To use appropriate qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to this end; and to work with all clients to help use analytical insights to generate better policy-making or service management.
- To carry out analytical work on public engagement results using appropriate qualitative or quantitative techniques, including key driver analysis
- To present the results of public engagement to policy makers and service managers in ways that will help them make effective use of the results
- To identify and acquire the appropriate information for analytical projects, paying due regard to necessary safeguards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Previous experience of information management, quantitative analysis or qualitative research skills would be advantageous
- Experience of designing and commissioning or carrying out social and market research
- Previous knowledge and experience of using technical methods such as database development and management, statistical, mathematical data would be beneficial
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively on paper and in person, including the effective presentation of statistical data to policy-makers
- Experience of working on several projects simultaneously and delivering outputs on time
- Candidate will have to be well-organised
