RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The successful candidate will be part of a lab-based exploratory biomarker team working on oncology-focused projects.
- Work responsibilities will include cell culture/cell-based assays, nucleic acid isolation from cells and tissue samples (FFPE & frozen), next-gen sequencing and qPCR for mutation detection, qRT-PCR and NanoString for gene expression profiling and immunoassays for protein quantification.
- The successful candidate will learn and understand the biology related to assigned projects and then help design and perform experiments to address questions related to those projects.
- There will also be an expectation to occasionally present results at internal lab and group meetings and possibly at external meetings.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BA/BS in life science and two years relevant lab-based experience.
- Experience with cell-based assays and/or next-gen sequencing (Ion Torrent or Illumina).

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with performing nucleic acid isolation from cells and tissue samples (FFPE & frozen), qPCR for mutation detection, qRT-PCR and/or NanoString for gene expression profiling and/or immunoassays for protein quantification is beneficial.
- Knowledge of cancer-related pathways and biology will be helpful.
