Research Associate Job

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Davis, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The responsibilities for this position are focused mostly on:
- Solid and liquid culture of bacteria, mainly Bacillus species.
- Collect, archive and organize samples for cryopreservation and internal assays
- Collect and compile data and records in laboratory notebooks and other documentation systems
- Run programs on Tecan and QPix colony picker robots
- Compliance with BSL-2 level biosafety
- Candidate will assist in replicating and maintaining our isolate collection.
- Knowledge and experience with robotics such as Tecan liquid handler and colony picker is a plus.
- Candidate will also be responsible for cataloguing and maintaining strain libraries and fulfilling internal requests for biological material.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- We are looking for a research associate who is proficient in Microbiology or related fields.
- Looking for candidates with interest in agriculture, crop science, bioengineering degree
- Candidate should be familiar with basic microbiology techniques
- The position requires a B.S. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, or a related discipline with a minimum one to three (1 - 3) years experience.
- The candidate must have excellent technical and troubleshooting abilities, be highly motivated, detail-oriented and organized
- The candidate should have good computer skills.
- Excellent reliability, strong oral and written communication, good interpersonal, and collaboration skills are required.
