Research Associate Job

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in South San Francisco, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- The Research Associate will support pharmacodynamic biomarker assay development at Genentech.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The individual will perform molecular biology and/or protein laboratory assays and will analyze and report laboratory results.
- The candidate will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team.
- S/he may handle animal and human blood and must adhere to corporate safety standards in all aspects of the work.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- The ideal candidate will have significant laboratory experience with qPCR and RNA extraction procedures.
- Familiarity with additional laboratory techniques including ELISA, western blots, FACS and/or human whole blood assays would be desirable.
- The candidate should be able to apply analytical skills and judgment in assessing the quality of assay data and assay performance.
- In addition, the candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team environment, be able to meet timelines efficiently and be willing and eager to learn new technologies.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS/MS degree in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, or a related field.
- Three (3) plus years of laboratory work experience.
