Research Assistant - Scientific

An ideal opportunity for a candidate to gain industrial analytical chemistry experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performing chromatography separations coupled with mass spectrometer detection
- Use skills in chromatography and mass spectrometry as part of a multi-disciplinary analytical team that is focused on characterization of wide variety of food matrices materials and identification of taints and unknowns.
- Develop, validate, and deploy novel GC-MS methodologies and techniques for quantification of various species.
- Provide technical leadership in emerging areas of separations and mass spectrometry.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Experience with food and/or pharma a plus.
- Advanced degree desired.

SKILLS

Working experience with Gas Chromatography and Mass Spec (GC-MS) and Gerstel equipment and be skilled at interpretation of GC-MS data. Candidate should possess good general analytical skills and understanding of Food Systems. Advanced computer skills required. Strong technical leadership skills and LC-MS experience desired. Education, BA in Chemistry, Master or PHD is desired
