RESEARCH ASSISTANT needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Prior experience working in a histology lab setting
- knowledge of Word and Excel
- able to lift ten pounds

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This position will assist with a variety of histology-related activities.
- Primary histology duties will include: basic trimming and embedding as needed, equipment maintenance (changing tissue processors and autostainers), preparation of solutions and reagents, retrieving paraffin blocks from archive, printing glass slides, database entries, ordering and stocking supplies, inventory of staining kits and reagents, maintaining the freezers and other general maintenance duties.
- We need an individual who understands the importance of accuracy in our work.
- In order to meet the needs of the laboratory and its staff, work schedule is from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Able to work in a team environment.
- Prior experience working in a histology lab setting is desired.
- Willingness to work with fixed human and veterinary tissues.
- Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.
- Computer experience is desired. Training for assigned duties will be provided
