Reporting Accountant

Based on the outskirts of Cheltenham, a recognised and respected business is working with Hays to source a Reporting Accountant to join an established finance team on an interim basis.This role would suit either someone with a background in an accounting practice or an accountant with experience of having worked in a large company within a financial reporting role. Supporting the delivery and reporting of accurate financial accounts to the assets business you shall provide technical expertise to ensure that accounting standards are appropriately applied to the business.The job will combine a degree of routine activities with advisory aspects. The key aspect of the role is delivery of month end and year end financial reporting requirements. This may include activities such as analysing and preparing accruals, posting journals, calculation of taxation, analytical reviews of P&L, cash and balance sheet, balance sheet reconciliations and, potentially, preparation of the statutory accounts. A fundamental aspect of the role will be the preparation of monthly performance reports.As a professionally qualified accountant with significant experience of technical accounting you shall have a clear and rehearsed use within Microsoft Excel being highly proficient with strong technical knowledge and good analytical skills to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
