JOB TITLE: RELEASE MANAGER

LOCATION: BLOOMINGTON, IL

JOB DESCRIPTION:

TOP THREE SKILLS:

Release Management experience - Have a working knowledge and experience in ITIL's Release Management discipline in a medium to large organization

- Coordination/Leadership - must have the ability to work across many areas and coordinate/lead test leads in preparation for large releases
- Test Experience - must understand the testing discipline

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a release test lead role for Product Solutions (formerly P&C Systems) and will be involved with UAX release work. This opening would be for a person to drive the ITIL release testing process and interact with the Product Solutions project test leads to verify that the Mainframe and J2EE efforts in the release/drop are not impacting each other as well as ensuring required deliverables and code freeze dates are enforced. Client has a maturing configuration management database so the candidate would need to manually verify thru interaction with the project test leads to verify there is no impact to production. This person will be required to work on Sundays during release implementations and needs to have the ability to look across products and technologies to understand risks.

Internally working with individual project test leads and Change Management team for Change Advisory Board approvals.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE:

- Need release coordinators to ensure projects have all the deliverables needed to advance through testing and production gates.
- Long term assignment at a fortune 50 company. Working in a collaborative environment and extremely high profile work effort to change how insurance is purchased.
