(Bonuses available-determined upon length of assignment)Must have OR circulator experience to qualify for a seasonal positionHeart Hospital of Austin, a campus of St. David's Medical Center, is currently looking for experienced Cardiovascular OR nurses to join our exceptional growing team. We opened our doors in 1998 and began providing cardiovascular services to the people of Central Texas. Since then, our facility, staff and services have grown, and so has our reputation. Today, people come from across the nation to experience the benefits of a facility devoted to cardiac care. Our surgical services department consists of 5 Operating Rooms, including 2 state-of-the-art hybrid ORs and 2 dedicated Heart rooms. Our surgeons are not only experts in traditional cardiac surgery techniques but are also on the forefront of emerging technologies to treat the full spectrum of cardiothoracic and vascular conditions. In 2014 we performed 664 Open Heart surgeries, including many complex valve and thoracic procedures. Listed below are some of the key highlights of our overall program:· Endovascular Specialties include TAVR / MitraClip / AAA / ELG / Thoracic / Peripheral / Carotid Stenting· Complex Vascular procedures· Active in multiple ground-breaking research studies, having been selected by a variety of companies because of our history of excellent clinical outcomes.· Malcolm Baldrige Award Winner· Truven Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals in the Nation (8 times)· HealthGrades Top 100 Hospital Position Summary:This professional staff person is responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating the care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN works collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. In addition, the RN performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.Qualifications/Specifications Education: Graduate of a nursing program.Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with current state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact. BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Successful completion of AHA approved course in ACLS within three months of employment required for all nursing areas except Executive Wellness and OR. ACLS preferred for OR.Experience: Minimum of one-year adult, acute care with cardiology/cardiovascular nursing preferred. Circulator experience a must.
