JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Position will be on the Regional Clinical Services Analytics team, specifically support Laboratory services and assisting during the Lab's implementation and go-live of Cerner Millennium. Position will be responsible for working with current Lab Analyst to provide clients, including Lab Operations, Medical Group, Quality, etc with ad hoc reporting needs, as well as developing reports from the Cerner system.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Report development

2. Work with customers to understand business needs and answer questions about data/reporting

3. Collaborate with Analytics team to develop understanding of Cerner reporting tools

REQUIRED SKILLS:

1. Proficient in writing CCL (Cerner Command Language) queries

2. Proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel

3. Prior experience designing reports and building programs in Cerner Discern Analytics, Discern VisualDeveloper, and Cerner Visual Explorer

4. Knowledge of working with and reporting from relational databases

SOFT SKILLS:

1. Mentor and guide others who are new to using Cerner and CCL; provide subject matter expertise in Cerner reporting tools

2. Understand and translate requests from customers into actionable reports, queries, etc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, information technology, Health Science Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Additional four years) required.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience developing spreadsheets and graphs using Microsoft Excel required.

Three years CCL query writing experience

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE

Two years of relevant data mining experience in lab or health care strongly preferred.

Two years of experience designing and developing databases and queries using Microsoft Access strongly preferred.

One year of experience with SQL/Oracle strongly preferred

Knowledge of Crystal Reports preferred

Working knowledge of Sunquest or another lab system preferred

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE - Very proficient with CCL. Very familiar with Cerner. MS Access and Excel. Data Savvy. Experience working with relational databases.
