Team Leader, Planning Policy - 12 month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Regeneration is at the heart of everything we do. This is a major opportunity to help shape the future of Enfield and take a key role in the delivery of regeneration.

The Strategic Planning and Design Service of the Council is currently preparing an ambitious Local Plan programme to support our regeneration priorities. With a Core Strategy already in place work, is now advancing on a range of other important planning documents including area action plans, masterplans, site specific proposals, development management policies and CIL.

We are looking for an outstanding person to lead the Planning Policy Team during a busy year ahead, initiating and implementing policies and developing partnerships and strategies within the statutory planning framework. The candidate will be a chartered town planner with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience which should include preparing planning policy documents such as Core Strategies, AAPs, SPDs and infrastructure plans, developing and maintaining an evidence base, managing document production, public consultation and engagement. We are seeking applicants for the post who can lead a busy and dynamic team, handle and prioritise a challenging workload, liaise with other Council teams and key external stakeholders.
