Must have skills:

3 or more years of Systems Administration experience for Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system. General understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10, 6.3 and 6.5 needed to troubleshoot provisioning issues of the virtualized and physical Servers. Proficient SQL Database administration experience.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

Proficient in writing and testing scripts, leveraging PowerShell and/or PowerCLI, Perl, and Bash to automate vSphere administration. ITIL Foundation Certified. Previous experience with OpenStack and/or Chef is helpful.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an entry level position for a System Administrator for both RHEL and/or Windows. This person will be required to monitor an incident queue and address common issues as it pertains to building virtual and physical Servers via automation tools, both COTS and homegrown applications, as well as scripts. This person will also be responsible for working with Dev Ops and service delivery team members to remediate server issues during provisioning phases, as well as clearly articulate any pain points back to the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of Systems Administration experience for Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
- General understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10, 6.3 and 6.5 needed to troubleshoot provisioning issues of the virtualized and physical Servers
- General understanding of Windows 2008 and 2012 Server needed to troubleshoot provisioning issues of the virtualized and physical Servers
- General level understanding of VMWare and vSphere
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with technical writing and documentation management and building system and infrastructure architecture and design
- Proficient SQL database administration experience

PREFERRED:

- Proficiency in writing and testing scripts, leveraging PowerShell and/or PowerCLI, Perl, and Bash to automate vSphere administration
- Python coding experience
- Previous experience with OpenStack and/or Chef helpful
- Systems Administration experience for Windows 2008 and 2012 Server
- General understanding of Solaris needed to troubleshoot provisioning issues of the virtualized and physical Servers
- Good understanding of BMC Atrium Orchestrator for automation
- ITIL Foundation Certified
