Rail Operations and Specification Manager

My client is a major Government Transport organisation seeking a senior interim to provide technical advice on rail specification and operational aspects to inform the development and evaluation of rail franchise ITTs. The role is key strategic position in the directorate.

Experience required for the post:

- Extensive experience of working in a rail technical environment, leading the development and implementation of significant, complex, high risk, high value projects and programmes
- Strong commercial track record, including considerable experience of conducting complex negotiations with 3rd parties
- Experience of assessing complex changes and managing a change control system
- Track record of providing strategic challenge on projects to improve development and delivery
- Experience of working in a highly political environment
- Highly developed leadership skills, and the gravitas to establish credibility quickly
- A strong understanding of the UK rail industry
