R&D Chemist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain an active working relationship with the Manufacturing site leadership, research & development, site personnel as the principal focus.
- Maintain emphasis on the overall needs of the businesses and its customers during assignment. Assignment may include participation on other team activities and initiatives as per need and communicated by the R&D and Manufacturing site leadership.
- Responsible for ensuring the safe, environmentally sound and efficient assignment execution.
- Responsible for adhering to time-lines, respecting Manufacturing schedules, processes, controls, costs, efficiencies and departmental guidelines.
- Moisture measurements of all fillers prior to being used in production.
- Conduct study of moisture content vs. time for fillers.
- Conduct study of batch times.
- Create a system for management of raw material certificates of analysis so information can be readily accessed.

SKILLS:

REQUIREMENTS:

- Five to ten years of successful leadership experience in QC manufacturing or R&D in positions with increasing exposure to production, QC, engineering, or maintenance.
- BS degree in a technical discipline.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate discussions/presentations
- Critical thinking, decision making, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with various client groups, strong leadership presence, broad knowledge of various plant manufacturing functions.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and cohesive integration at manufacturing site and with R&D.
- Ability to recognize, question, & develop recommendations to technical issues in testing, production, maintenance, logistics, quality, environmental and/or safety.
- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry

PREFERRED: Leadership experience in a chemical processing manufacturing operation
