QUALITY IMPROVEMENT LEAD - NHS

AIM OF THE ROLE:

My client a large NHS acute trust has committed to establishing a quality improvement programme to support the delivery of the new quality strategy. The approach will be made up of two elements: a quality improvement training programme which will provide blended training for our staff to enable them to conduct QI projects in their workplace areas and a new central team called the 'Quality Improvement Hub'.

The 'QI Hub', will provide expertise in improvement methodology and measurement. They will be responsible for the delivery of a trust-wide QI training programme, provision of support and guidance to staff members conducting QI projects, promoting engagement in QI, monitoring QI activities and outputs and promoting the spread of learning from QI activities to other departments.

This post will be one of 4 which make up the hub's Quality Improvement Leads. The QI leads will play an instrumental role in providing corporate leadership and support for a portfolio of improvement projects, promoting clinical engagement in QI amongst our staff and ensuring that learning from QI projects is shared and spread.

The post holders will work with the Associate Medical Director to lead the development of quality improvement at the trust.Key result areas:

- To provide corporate leadership and support for an agreed portfolio of quality improvement projects
- To provide ad hoc support for other quality improvement projects as required
- To liaise and engage organisation and other sector colleagues as appropriate
- To attend and lead all relevant project meetings within the Trust
- Provide timely and effective advice and leadership working with managers and staff
- Provide written reports on project progress, including risks and issues
- To co-ordinate and support ongoing developments to the quality improvement frameworks
- To support and lead on specific programmes of work to deliver agreed priorities.
- To assist in supporting teams to develop quality improvement projects to ensure the priorities are sustained and surpassed by identifying and linking both with existing means of corporate support and with other clinical teams.
- Provide expert advice on the development of new models of quality improvement, patient care, innovation and improvement, ensuring that the Trust's plans reflect new and best practice.
- To ensure all reporting mechanisms are in place.
