Quality Engineer Job

QUALITY ENGINEER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Pueblo, Colorado.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Management of supplier quality related to assigned value stream. Suppliers include sister plants supplying components.
- Support factory quality and process capability.
- Mine and consolidate warranty data, factory reject data, and other sources for component quality improvement opportunities
- This could include, but is not limited to production part approval process (PPAP), reactive quality problem resolution, assisting supplier evaluation and selection, Six Sigma and Quality training, business process development, projects to improve supplier quality at factories.
- On an ongoing basis, validate that supplier and internal process control plans are in place and being followed.
- Mine and consolidate warranty data, factory reject data, and other sources for component quality improvement opportunities.
- Understand the current status of Supply Chain activities and communicate results/issues.
- Data mining and collection for cost recovery efforts.
- Must work closely with manufacturing plant, supply chain organization and Strategic Sourcing Teams in this effort.
- Leverage outside resources, best practices, internal consulting and past experience to ensure that business objectives in component and supplier quality improvement are met.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Advanced supplier quality development and engineering experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required Demonstrated experience with project management and team leadership is required.
- Other key competencies required are; strong leadership, interpersonal, communication skills, customer satisfaction focused, team oriented, results driven, and strong computer skills.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing is a plus.

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:

- Six Sigma (Green Belt) preferred.
- ISO 9001 working knowledge a strong plus
- ASME code knowledge a strong plus
- Experience in manufacturing, design, quality or supply chain preferred.
- Professional certification (CPM, CQE, APICS, CQM, PE, etc) are a plus.
