Quality Engineer

Client in South Carolina is looking to add a Quality Engineer to their staff. The candidate will be brought on, in a contract-to-hire capacity. This a fast paced, service oriented manufacturing environment, the candidate will assure the development and implementation of comprehensive quality programs in accordance with Vendor Certifications, Customer Certifications and recognized international standards such as ISO 9000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Investigate, develop and implement Quality Assurance methods, systems and procedures to ensure that established standards of product quality, accuracy, workmanship, and performance are maintained; to include ISO 9001-2008 quality management system (Quality Assurance), World Class Manufacturing (Quality Control) and Quality Engineering.
- Design and implement required systems to insure problem identification, effective inspection and process performance.
- Develop and implement major quality improvement programs by combining extensive knowledge of Quality Control technology, creativity, and innovation and an ability to negotiate and sell.
- Develop and implement quality plans specific to major contracts to ensure compliance with quality provisions as stipulated in such contracts, including government contracts.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business
- 5 years' quality assurance and quality engineering experience including a minimum of 3 years' management experience in a manufacturing ISO9001 environment
- Specialized knowledge in a broad range of engineering disciplines
- Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook are required
- Ability to read blueprints is required
- Lean 6 Sigma knowledge is preferred
- Certified Quality Manager, Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, and ISO Lead Assessor desired
- Knowledge and exposure to turning, milling, grinding, edm, and electroplating desired. Supplier control experience a plus
