Quality Control Technician Job

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in CHATSWORTH, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensions and Tolerance,
- Experiences of IPC-A-610D standard, ANSI/NCLS Z540-1 Calibration systems, ANSI/ASQC Z1.9
- Sampling procedure and tables for inspection by attributes, requirements or equivalent.
- Familiar with ISO 13485:2003

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Inspects products received against current engineering drawings/specifications or inspection instructions in a timely manner, to meet the demands of stock room and production line.
- Documents discrepancies and works with Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing to disposition nonconformance.
- Maintains comprehensive incoming inspection records and ensures that they're compiled with the applicable quality and ISO standards as well as FDA regulations.
- Coordinates the calibration of monitoring, and measurement equipment, throughout the facility on a timely manner.
- Uses initiative and technical skills to accept or reject parts per acceptance criteria. Implements right sampling plan on active inspections.
- Recognizes problems that might affect the quality or integrity of the product and communicates findings effectively. Performs other duties as required by Supervisor.
- Attentive to opportunities for continuous improvement and suggests alternatives and solutions to problems.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Requires Four (4) years of formal vocational training or Two (2) years of college with an electronics or mechanical engineering.
- Two (2) years of quality receiving inspection experience as a basic requirement.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensions and Tolerance,
- Experiences of IPC-A-610D standard, ANSI/NCLS Z540-1 Calibration systems, ANSI/ASQC Z1.9
- Sampling procedure and tables for inspection by attributes, requirements or equivalent.
- Familiar with ISO 13485:2003
- Must be well versed with inspection measuring equipment for mechanical or electronics use.
- Must be capable of making inspection set-ups with a sense of urgency.
- Requires basic knowledge of mathematical calculations.
- Acts independently within department guidelines and prioritize work assignments to complete on a timely manner.
- Must have the ability to follow written instructions, and shows attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, have strong teamwork skills, maintain motivation and focus on assigned tasks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prefers Two (2) years' experience on quality receiving inspection in mechanical or electronic assembly environments.
- Quality Standard requirements desirable.
