SUMMARY:

LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity (2+ years). We are seeking a solid Quality Assurance Engineer with 6-8 years of experience. You must have prior work experience in a Unix environment, be able to navigate through a Unix environment, and be familiar with Unix commands. This role requires testing on a fast-paced, time sensitive project. The applicant must have the ability to quickly switch from one task to another and follow the work plan to meet project milestones. You will be responsible for developing and executing test plans using technical requirements and design specifications as input, analysing test results, performing data validation, tracking defects and providing regular status. This role requires excellent working knowledge of the testing methodologies and the quality processes. Client ready to hire!

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have a minimum of 5 + years experience with Software Testing web, GUI, database and Client Server applications on multiple platforms (Unix a must have).
- Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years experience with SQL Server, Oracle, .NET applications, Unix, testing UI/Web Applications
- Must have knowledge of network, RF and hardware devices, C, C++, C#, .NET, Java, J2EE; WebLogic and TFS a plus!
- Experience using Rational products (Clearcase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro) - Experience with QTP a plus.
- Experience with SQL (writing queries), web programming, Unix, and automated testing tools preferred.
- An understanding of Web technologies, including architecture, server configuration, HTML, XML and web protocol
- Highly skilled in using different techniques while performing testing tasks related to database, Back End processes and Front End applications.
- Ability to mentor others in a more junior role
