Contract Quality Assurance Engineer

Radar and camera surveillance solutions and communication equipment to the armed forces, emergency responders and off-shore oil and gas operators.

The role is required to maintain adherence to the Quality Management System and to promote a culture of continuous improvement, thereby improving business performance and maintaining the ISO 9001 accreditation of the Southampton and Aberdeen sites.

The role entails:
1. Conducting internal audits on the Company Quality Management System (QMS).
2. Monitoring Non-conformances and associated corrective actions.
3. Conducting Vendor audits/assessments when required.
4. Performing First Article Inspections on Subcontractor Deliverables
5. Provide guidance to all staff on the application of the Company QMS
6. Review and approval of deliverable documentation
7. Review and approval of Change Requests and Concessions.
8. Representing the QA function at internal meetings, design reviews and Customer meetings
9. Interpreting implementing and monitoring Customer contractual quality requirements.
10. Producing and maintaining Quality Plans in accordance with Customer requirements.
11. Perform final release checks on all deliverable equipment and produce Certificate of Conformity where required.
12. Presenting contract deliverables and release documentation to the Customer for formal acceptance
13. Investigating Quality problems associated with design, production and service.
14. Proposing/facilitating changes to the QMS to improve product quality and/or business efficiency.

Skills Requried:
1. Educated to HNC/HND/Degree Level in engineering or science discipline.
2. ISO9001 Internal Auditor
3. Experience of applying and maintaining an ISO9001 approved Quality Management System
4. Some experience of performing a Quality Assurance role in a design and manufacturing organisation with some electrical/electronic or software content.
5. Good communication and negotiation skills
6. Ability to plan own time effectively
7. Ability to influence others.
8. Good Analytical skills
