QC Lab Technician with Chemistry

DESCRIPTION:

- Performing the Wet Chemistry and Physical Testing of products in the lab.
- The position is in a Production Lab performing QC on the product once it is produced.

SKILLS:

REQUIREMENTS:

- The candidate has to be proficient in general laboratory techniques
- Have experience in performing a variety of methods utilizing both wet chemical and physical testing methods and performing instrument validations.
- Also, the applicant needs to know how to: perform validation protocols and follow Standard Operation Procedures (SOP); handle laboratory projects and investigations; summarize, report and/or review findings; perform daily tasks within laboratory to ensure compliance with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Good Laboratory Practices.
- The individual filling this position should have good organizational and time management skills.
- The individual should have hands on knowledge of physical testing equipment such as MFI, tensile/compression testing, hardness and thickness testing, as well as small scale extruder experience.
- The individual should also have experience with basic laboratory equipment such as balances, and titration equipment.
- The individual should be comfortable working with hazardous materials and understanding the proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal and safety equipment.
- The individual must be knowledgeable of MSDS's and the metric system.
- The individual must be able to work independently and interact with the Plant Operating personnel group on a regular basis both written and verbally.
- The individual should have the ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; the ability to communicate effectively with other employees within the organization; the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and applicable governmental regulations.
- The individual must be proficient and comfortable working with a variety of software systems for instrument control and reporting of results and well as with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- The individual must be comfortable performing set routine tasks in an established time frame as well as working on independent projects requiring detailed reporting and observations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- The position requires a HSD/GED along with a minimum of 2 years of related laboratory experience
- Candidate MUST possess strong mechanical aptitude.
- Prefer candidates with a blend of Manufacturing and QC experience
- Candidates with Injection Molding and Extrusion Experience are highly preferred.
- Computer literate
- Familiar with standard laboratory equipment and procedures
