QA Test Lead

QA TEST LEAD (CONTRACT 6 MONTHS)

A global telecoms company is looking for an experience Test lead with previous experience working in a telecoms environment.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITY

- Responsible for development of test strategy and approach across multiple projects
- Responsible for identifying which projects require cross vendor testing and which projects require cross project testing
- Provide input into overall project planning
- Create and maintain overall test plan (end to end view), to include cycles, scenarios and number of passes required to ensure end to end test coverage requirements are met
- Verify vendor test plans in terms of coverage, dependencies and schedule alignment
- Liaise with other testing stakeholders to agree their participation in End to End testing
- Identification of testing resource requirements from all impacted projects and stakeholders (Vendors/Operations/Business/Etc.)
- Development of testing resourcing plan, which clarifies vendor, 3rd party, contractor and VF allocation of resources
- Develop and provide test requirements and estimates for projects planning
- Responsible for development and management of test phase schedule and alignment of all phases/vendors
- Ensure all acceptance, entry and exit criteria are defined and agreed for each test phase
- Responsible for planning, set up and management of data requirements throughout all stages of testing life cycle and taking into account all stakeholder testing requirements
- Define test tool requirements and ensure tools are in place for test phases
- Co-ordinate, with vendors, management of system & environment requirements and transition of these through the each stage of project life cycle
- Liaise with the Live Trials lead to ensure synergy in approach for Live Trial and test approach on previous phases of testing

EXECUTION

- Coordination of functional and non-functional test execution across all parties involved
- Communicate with project resources, eg test leads, vendors, operations, etc. at a technical level to assist with the resolution of defects
- Responsible for ensuring execution of non-functional testing
- Responsible for ensuring that cross vendor testing within projects is planned and executed
- Responsible for ensuring that cross project integration testing is planned and executed (working closely with IT Test Lead)
- Ensure appropriate level of negative testing has been performed
- Triage lead across multiple vendors to ensure that required end to end test coverage requirements can be met
- Responsible for Test Phase Signoff and Exit Reports (closeout)
- Tracking prioritisation, resolution and escalation of defects
- Ensure estimated timeframes are accepted and met
- Prepare test summary reports

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- 5 years technical experience in telecoms environments
- Significant experience in leading test planning and execution across multiple vendors
- Proven skills in test strategy definition, test planning and test data management
- Expert knowledge of test processes and methodologies
- Thorough and practical understanding of testing phases/types of testing/testing life cycle
- Experience of vendor management throughout the testing life cycle
- Knowledge and experience of Automated Test Tools
- Web testing experience
- Performance & non-functional testing experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent team building, management and motivation skills
- Ability to manage workshops to facilitate development of test strategy and planning
- Have a strong focus on delivery with excellent stakeholder management skills
