QA Software Tester

GCS has new immediate daily rate contract requirement for a good QA Software Tester to join our Dublin city based client on an initial 3-6 month contract. For this role, we need someone who is potentially available to interview and start onsite immediately. The rate is dependent on experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- 4+ years QA software testing experience on multi-platforms
- Experience in testing both client side and Server Side applications
- Front End and Back End testing
- Managing release schedules, testing and bug tracking with the development team
- Defect investigation & detailed bug logging where expected outcomes are different from actual
- Provide detailed analysis of all testing carried out on the environment ensuring all bugs, risks and issues are logged correctly
- Strong web site functional testing
- Experience of XML, Web Services and Distributed Systems
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Provides focused, accurate and exact data analysis
- Experience in writing SQL Queries, analysing flowcharts and reading logs to pin point issues
- Good verbal and written communication skills, Good team player and Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Working on own initiative to develop and keep improving the full QA life cycle.
- Be pro-active in approach to ensuring system meets specification
- Be a positive influence within the team
- Experience with performance testing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Liaise with our development and project management teams and write test cases or create test plans in line with corporate goals and objectives
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of core system & processes, and how those systems & processes interact (end-to-end testing)
- Using the documents supplied, oversee the testing process from writing up test cases, create scripts, and execute the test cases and documentation relating to functional, end to end and performance testing.
- Proactively communicate test progress, issues and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
- Ensure defect prevention of product by working with other departments to prevent defects in all
- Defect management, ensuring suitable resolutions are obtained
- Perform tests on multiple devices including web, desktop, Terminals and mobile devices
- Contribute to developing and documenting the project test strategy, ensuring a robust test pack is in place to support the test execution.
