QA ENGINEER
My client, a leader in the financial services sector, is looking for an experienced functional and automation QA Engineer for a contract role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Functional & Automation testing for applications used in FPAIT Shared Products Team.
- Work closely with the Development team to agree on test requirements and deliverables.
- Build comprehensive library of re-usable components using BPT in HP Quality Center suite.
- Able to work independently on QTP and understands the overview of QTP as test automation tool - features, performance and usage.
- Actively Participate in requirements and technical specification meetings.
- Provide QA test status reporting on a weekly basis to management both onshore/offshore.
- Create tests using the automated test components available.
- Test case development and defect management using Quality Center.
- Escalate issues encountered during test planning and execution.
- Attend daily scrum and weekly tactical meetings.
- Provide release estimates for User Stories or requirements.
- Participate in requirement and design reviews.
- Conduct tests based on test schedules and on an ad hoc basis as needed for Production Support.
- Proactive communication related to any issues.
- Build domain knowledge.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS or MS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 3 - 5 years' experience in with the full spectrum of functional Quality Assurance testing and systems development life cycles.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Working experience in functional testing and database testing, including strong SQL knowledge.
- Understanding of framework and experience of having designed or implemented automation framework would be an advantage.
- Experience with building automation scripts and/or programs using tools such as Selenium, QTP, Cucumber or Fitnesse.
- Previous Financial Services experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent problem analysis and creative solution-building skills.
- Prior experience working with distributed teams.
- Experience working on projects using an Agile methodology would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of test management tools such as QualityCenter, Rally.
- Proven customer and relationship management experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with Test Automation is highly valued.
- Experience with SQL Server preferred.
- Familiarity with .NET web applications would be an advantage.
- Flexibility to travel to US as required.
