QA Analyst

1. Analyzes system and business requirements and processes within the contexts of projects and information services operations.
2. Creates test plans, including test strategies, schedules, resource allocations, and user acceptance plans, contributing to the overall effectiveness of a project team in the delivery of quality products and services.
3. Designs scenarios and test cases to ensure adequate test coverage.
4. Ensures assigned activities are completed on time.
5. Develops manual tests and their execution at all test levels to verify application readiness for production implementation.
6. Analyzes test results and conducts root cause analysis.
7. Ensures appropriate configuration and management of test environments.
8. Communicates project testing statuses and defect reports to project managers, project stakeholders, and the IT Shared Services Quality Assurance Manager.
9. Works with the project teams to ensure quality throughout the product life cycle, including the identification and resolution of software defects, defect management, and defect reporting; reviews project deliverables for accuracy, apprises management of issues affecting project status, and offers solutions to resolve the issues.
10. Interfaces with all areas affected by a project or problem being addressed, including end-users, vendors and implementation partners; escalates critical issues, changes, problems, or delays to the IT Shared Services Quality Assurance Manager.
11. Advocates for users and business owners to ensure their needs are being met, and that they are actively engaged on projects and in decision making aspects of operational process and procedure implementations and changes.
12. Develops and maintains a solid knowledge of the various applications and business processes and shares such knowledge with other QA team members.
13. Assists in the creation and adoption of quality assurance and testing methods and processes
14. Assists in quality audits and reviews/analyzes data, documentation and processes focusing on continuous improvement initiatives; apprises management of issues affecting project status and/or deficiencies in processes, and offers solutions to resolve the issues.
15. Supports standards, processes and procedures necessary to produce team deliverables.
16. Facilitates and/or leads quality improvement team activities.
17. Effectively makes presentations to small to mid-size audiences at various levels of the organization.
18. Assists with implementation of the quality training program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. 1-3 years experience in a software engineering or information technology organization, doing development, software package implementation, testing, configuration management, and/or quality assurance.
3. Mortgage servicing experience required; loan originations a plus
4. Knowledge of software product life cycle models and requirements traceability.
5. Good testing skills, or testing aptitude with strong analytical skills; experience creating test cases, test scripts, defect reports, and associated documentation is desirable, as is experience in quality assurance.
6. Exposure to test automation, performance test, or test management tools is a plus.
7. Can effectively use MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
